To sum it up, it's just about my second favorite day of the year!  This addition to the Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run was added soley as our yearly fundraiser.  Every penny we collect from the "Summer Series" event goes directly into our college scholarship fund (Sleigh Rides) and the best part is your donation now is 100% tax deductible.

I originally started the Sleigh Riders charity back in 2006 with the Christmas Toy Run but it wasn't until the summer of 2010 till I came up with the idea of the 'Summer Series' event. My thought process was saying that if 300 of you will come out for the toy run when it's 35 degrees outside, then if we double the temp, we should double the riders.

That hasn't happened, yet, but we are hoping for 400 this Sunday which would be a record for us and the day and event is very unique all in itself.  The idea when creating the 'Summer Series' event was to make it an event like no other; part poker run and part toy run but even the poker run part of it is probably like no other poker run you've done because we utilize darts and bb guns. How I can't tell you, but it's a blast.  This poker run also pays our more cash than any other run I know of with $1000 for best hand, $500 for second and even the third best hand of the day walks away with $250 in cash.

Then there is the toy run part of it.  Just like on the Christmas run, for every brand new unwrapped toy you donate, you get a raffle ticket to win prizes...good stuff. Like a John Elway signed football just for the Sleigh Riders, $500 in leather, $50 gift cards to Thunder Mountain, Greeley Stampede concert tickets and more. (If you don't bring a toy, raffle tickets will be available for $5.)

You don't have to own a motorcycle for this event either. What better way to spend a day in the car than with a beautiful mountain drive. Own a helicopter?  Bring it!  It just doesn't matter what you ride or drive what does matter is that you show up and help provide a future/college education for those kids who need the help.

Registration begins at Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson (4250 Byrd Dr, Loveland) at 8:00 AM and the after party at The Boot Grill (4164 Clydesdale Parkway, Loveland) starts at 3:00 PM; prizes start going at 4:00 PM. Registration cost is $20 for a single rider and $30 for a rider/passenger.

The Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run is now a 501(c)3 so your donations are 100% tax deductible so when you hit the lottery, keep us in mind. See you all this Sunday and don't forget your smiles and a toy or two.
