Fans Can Now Return To Ball Arena For Avalanche, Nuggets Games
Colorado sports fans, we've been waiting for this one.
Both the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche have received permission from state public health officials to host fans at Ball Arena, as per an announcement made by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment on Thursday (Mar. 18).
Beginning Friday, April 2, the arena will permit up to 4,050 fans to attend Nuggets and Avalanche games, which is 22% of the building's capacity.
"We are thrilled to welcome Avalanche and Nuggets fans to the newly named Ball Arena for the first time," said Stan Kroenke, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment's chairman and owner.
"We are grateful to local, state and national health authorities who collaborated with us to get to this point. We also would like to thank our partners at the NHL and NBA, who have worked tirelessly to ensure a safe return for our fans. This is a major first step in our quest to have a fully packed arena again with some of the greatest fans in sports."
KSE said it worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, State of Colorado, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment and the City and County of Denver, along with following guidance and protocols from the NBA and NHL.
Avalanche and Nuggets ticket plan holders and partners will receive first access to tickets through a series of presales.
According to the news release from KSE and Ball Arena, a very limited number of seats will be available to the general public. Ticket sales information for games that fans will be permitted to attend (beginning April 2) will be sent to ticket-plan holders through email in the next few days.
Kroenke Sports & Entertainment also announced that the Nuggets game scheduled for March 30 and the Avalanche game on March 31 will serve as games that will only permit frontline staff, health care providers and first responders to be in attendance, prior to the first game for ticketed fans on Friday, April 2.
"We are indebted to the immeasurable dedication of frontline workers throughout the pandemic to keep our community safe," said Kroenke. "We look forward to hosting several of them and honoring their heroic efforts during our first games back with fans."
