The Coloradoan is reporting that The City of Fort Collins and Colorado State University are jointly interviewing potential electric scooter companies with the plan to choose one this month.

The opinion on e-scooters in Fort Collins is split with many people citing problems in Denver, Nashville and Portland.

In Portland, Oregon officials recently used tax payer dollars to fish 57 e-scooters out of the Willamette River.

In Nashville, concerns went public after a 26 year old man was killed while riding a scooter intoxicated. Officials say he was at fault and two times the legal limit for alcohol consumption when he rode in the path of an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder.

My Fiance and I attended the Garth Brooks concert at the Pepsi Center last month and noticed hundreds of scooters laying on the sides of Denver streets. Including a few, stuffed into a public garbage can outside the Pepsi Center.

Last month, Fort Collins transportation planner Amanda Mansfield told the Coloradoan they hope to choose a company for a 12-month scooter share program by the end of summer.
