With Fourth of July weekend ahead of us, we're all hoping for the best in terms of weather, and right now, it doesn't look too bad. *Subject to change, obviously.

There's nothing worse than a rainy Independence Day to dampen your spirits. OK — maybe not being able to gather with friends and family to celebrate is worse (looking at you, 2020). But, now that we are in the clear to party again this year, fingers crossed we have sunshine.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday, July 4 is expected to be mostly sunny with a high in the mid to upper 80s. There is, however, a chance of showers and thunderstorms, which usually happen in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service does say that there will likely be less storm activity over the weekend. Hopefully those storms will clear by sunset, but it may not be a bad idea to prepare yourself for wet grass and mosquitos if you plan on watching fireworks.

If you live in Fort Collins, note that there will not be City Park fireworks again this year. Due to COVID-19, restrictions that were in place while planning was underway, the City of Fort Collins opted to once again partner with Loveland for a Larimer County drive-in show at The Ranch.

Berthoud's fireworks will be on Saturday, July 3. Greeley, Estes Park, Wellington and Windsor are hosting 4th of July firework shows on July 4.
