Heather "Helena" Hoffmann's murderer was sentenced to life in prison today at the Larimer County Justice Center. On January 8th, Jeffery Etheridge plead guilty to first degree murder of Heather Hoffmann. Her body was murdered on June 21st and her body was found in Sheldon Lake which is located at city park in Fort Collins.

Etheridge will spend life in prison for first degree murder. He was also charged with second degree kidnapping, sexual assault, and tampering with a deceased human body. All of the charges except first degree murder were dropped in a plea deal that was taken on January 8th that he would not face the death penalty.

According to the Coloradoan, Etheridge not only killed and sexually assaulted Heather Hoffmann, he took video of the incident. In fact, 14 videos were saved on his phone that show him assaulting her and bragging about it. Etheridge was also watching the videos when he was arrested by Fort Collins Police.  DNA evidence also tied Etheridge to the crime.
