We all know the struggle of having a bad Internet connection.

There is nothing worse than seeing the 'buffering' symbol pop up on your screen when you are just about to finish The Office again.

But a bad connection, or no Internet at all, is more than just an inconvenience for students who are trying to take their classes online due to the pandemic.

Many children within the Poudre School District (PSD) were experiencing this issue, so Fort Collins Connexion, the City's locally-managed broadband service, stepped in to help.

The company is now offering free WiFi to PSD students with the help of Fort Collins Light and Power and Traffic Operations, Platte River Power Authority, Atlantic Engineering Group and OnTrac.

"We have always been very much about our community. This is a service for our community," said Erin Shanley, Broadband Marketing Manager at Fort Collins Connexion, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "The goal of Connexion since day one has been bringing high-speed Internet...to every resident and business in the City of Fort Collins. Regardless of what neighborhood you live in, regardless of how much money you make. We couldn't have been more excited or motivated to help out."

On top of assisting students, Fort Collins Connexion is currently waiving installation fees for all residents in order to help anyone working from home during the pandemic.

No more scary 'buffering' symbols here.
