Independence Day in Fort Collins is a day-long celebration with a parade, musical performances, food truck rally and, of course, fireworks display.

This year is a special year though, as the City of Fort Collins has dedicated the 4th of July celebration to the 75th D-Day anniversary, and to the selfless men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

According to a city of Fort Collins press release, leading the 4th of July parade as an ambassador of the American Troops will be WWII veteran Corporal Curt Cameron, 95th Squadron of the 440th Troop Carrier Group.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. The parade route goes west on Mountain Avenue, and starts at Meldrum Street and ends at Jackson Avenue.
