I love this new Friday feature where I get to jump in the time machine and pick out a tune from country's past to highlight. I plan on dipping into the 60's-90's with this series. This week we will go back 27 years to 1991. Mary-Chapin Carpenter was just getting known by the country audience and we were loving what she was bringing.

Mary had many great hits like "He Thinks He'll Keep Her", "I Feel Lucky" and "Shut Up and Kiss Me" just to name a few. She really caught the nations ear in '91 when she took us down to the place called The Twist and Shout. I used to crank this up all the time and in fact I just recently bought this for my digital music library. Here is Mary-Chapin Carpenter with a song that made it all the way to number 2 on the charts. Let's take a trip back and head on "Down to the Twist and Shout".
