Ft. Collins Police Arrest Two people in Connection with July Assault

Fort Collins Police recently arrested two people in connection to an assault earlier this summer, that left one man with serious bodily injuries.

The initial incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 28, near downtown Fort Collins, where officers responded to the area of Oak Street and Remington Street regarding a verbal disturbance. Upon arriving at the location, investigators determined that the victim had tried to intervene the verbal altercation taking place between a man and woman. The male suspect reportedly punched the victim, which knocked him to the ground, and resulted in serious injuries. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

Over the course of the investigation, the woman involved in the altercation insisted multiple times that she and the suspect had just met that evening, so therefore, had no information about who he was. As it turns out, detectives determined that the female and male suspect were actually in a relationship.

When this information was revealed, detectives issued a warrant for the male, who was identified as Noah DeWitt of Casper, Wyoming. DeWitt was arrested in Casper for felony Second Degree Assault.

The woman, identified as Kaytlyn Garner, also of Casper, was arrested on a felony charge for Attempt to Influence a Public Servant. Both suspects were booked into the Wyoming jail.
