George Strait Showed Us What ‘Pure Country’ Was 26 Years Ago Today [VIDEO]

Remember Dusty Chandler? It was on this date back in 1992 that George Strait introduced us to that character in the movie Pure Country. I will always remember being in a packed theater watching king George make his big screen debut. Seeing him play Dusty Chandler, in a beard and pony tail, was a bit of shock at first. I still love this movie.

George would only show up a couple more times in movies, just making a brief cameo appearance a time or two. I always thought he could have done dozens of movies and I would have gone to see them all. Today is the 26th anniversary of the release of that movie and the soundtrack is still George's biggest seller of all time. Here is a taste.
