If you're missing your typical Friday night in Old Town Fort Collins, you might get it back starting as early as June 4.

Many bars and breweries are announcing on their social media pages that they're reopening, with limited hours and capacities. Regardless, Fort Collins is eager to get back to the bar scene.

The Social, Tony's, and Trailhead Tavern are a few examples of bars that were able to open at the same time as restaurants last week, since they allowed their patrons the ability to sit down and safely social distance. However starting Thursday, more bars are opening their doors, including Prost Brewing, Pinball Jones, and Black Bottle Brewery.

On Sunday, I went out to get a to-go ice cream cone from Walrus Ice Cream in Downtown Fort Collins. As I wandered through Old Town, I noticed a plethora of first dates happening at the new outdoor section of Social. I also noticed students in dresses and heels (and masks) searching for their next drink, as if it were a typical Friday night.

Our "night out" culture is returning in Old Town, much to the delight of those looking for a casual beer after work and business owners desperate to serve us in Northern Colorado. Soon, we'll be able to huddle at a bar together until midnight again, but for now, many bars and breweries continue to implement social distancing rules and limited hours, so be aware before you hit the town.
