What started as a possible shooting has turned into a house fire and possible arson in Gill, CO.  Early this morning, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a possible shooting in the 33000 block of HWY 392 in Gill.

When deputies arrived on scene they found that the suspect, 27 year old Aron Miramontes, was trying to break into his neighbor’s house. He appeared to be intoxicated on an unknown substance. The suspect had not been shot and apparently  there were no weapons used during this incident.

As deputies were trying to get the situation under control, they learned that the suspect’s house was on fire and fully engulfed in flames. Fire units were immediately dispatched to the structure fire.

Miramontes has been taken into custody and will be held at the Weld County Jail on charges of 4th degree arson, 2nd degree burglary, attempted 1st degree criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
