Eric Elder is $10,000 richer this week as he takes home the prize for 'Colorado's Safest Driver' in a contest held by State Farm.

Elder won the 12-week contest after downloading the State Farm app and having them monitor his driving habits for the entire period of time.

Elder is a fire engine driver for the Greeley Fire Department as well as an engineer. With this, he gets frequent training hours, so he's no stranger to safety.

According to the Greeley Tribune, Elder said that going the speed limit was actually the hardest thing to do. "He said some people would honk when he was driving the speed limit because he just couldn’t keep up with surrounding drivers."

Congratulations, Eric!
