A young woman in Greeley could be facing a felony charge after allegedly swinging at and spitting on a police officer when she was drunk.

18-year-old Arianna Rucobo is in hot water after the police responded to an apartment complex in Greeley at 3:20 a.m. on April 18 to check on a "disturbance."

The arriving officer contacted Rucobo and noticed a "very strong odor of alcohol on her breath," according to the Greeley Tribune. The article goes on to say that her eyes were bloodshot and she was laying on the floor, mumbling. Another resident told police that a half-shirtless Rucobo showed up at his door earlier in the night, banging on it and mumbling.

Police decided to take Rucobo to the jail to detox. When she was in handcuffs, she slipped one hand out and took a swing at the officer. When police tried putting her back in the vehicle, she kicked the door and spit in the officer's face.

She was booked at the Weld County Jail for attempted second-degree assault, second-degree assault, resisting arrest and minor in possession of alcohol.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the Weld District Attorney's office has until 3:30 p.m.  Wednesday to file charges.
