What started as a once a year veterans clinic event has now turned into an amazing non-profit organization. Healing Warriors provides non-narcotic therapy to service members and their families. This can include help with pain, PTSD and sleep.

I had the privilege to interview Ana Yelen, co-founder of Healing Warriors, and I asked her what the size of the problem is here in Colorado, "The challenge that we have in Colorado is that Colorado is in the top 5 states with the highest suicide rates. And we do have a number of bases in Colorado."

The treatment programs that the organization offers are Acupuncture-Detox, Immune Support, Wellness and Preventive Care. Help with Sleep, PTSD and interpersonal trauma and more.

"Just last year we had someone who put together a big fundraiser through their VFW because they told us that the care they received from us was life changing. That they were not sure that they would still be here on the planet if it hadn't have been for our care," - This is amazing to hear. Just saving at least one life is incredible, let alone many lives and counting.

Teacher Tuesday: January

Townsquare Media's Teacher Tuesday has been recognizing teachers who have skillfully adapted to the times and kept our Northern Colorado children learning all school year. We've only just returned from the holidays, but teachers and education staff are already working hard, and they deserve a prize for all they do.
