Approximately 70 percent of Coloradans over 70 years of age will be vaccinated by the end of February, Governor Polis said during a COVID-19 briefing on Wednesday, Jan. 6, reported by 9NEWS

The other major points in Polis' vaccine update were that the completion of Phase 1A, Colorado's most high-risk category, is expected next week (Jan. 15) and that schools will be provided with COVID-19 tests.

Right now, here's where we stand as a state:

  • Colorado has no counties in Level Red restrictions, those were loosened to Level Orange this week
  • A handful of counties are Level Yellow; one Level Blue; no Level Green
  • Positivity rate was 8.26 percent on Jan. 6
  • Colorado's case rate per 100,000 is around the same, or lower than, much of the country per the CDC
