Longmont Police have made an arrest for the arson of the Central Longmont Presbyterian Church fire resulting in damages over $5,000.

Denver7 reports that Cassidy Cole Moroney, 34, was arrested Tuesday evening and booked on first degree arson charges.

Police allege Moroney is a transient.

Firefighters saved the church from being damaged beyond repair.

Denver7 reports that investigators say Moroney broke a window in a door at the church and used an accelerant to start the fire.

Surveillance images of a male suspect were released Sunday, but no one has confirmed if that man was Moroney.
