The mountains could see feet of snow (plural) this weekend, in fact, high-elevation travel is expected to be a nightmare. But, just how much snow will we get in the Fort Collins area?

According to the National Weather Service, Fort Collins does have snow in the forecast, but it's not an alarming amount (and thank goodness, because we're still waiting for some of the Thanksgiving snow and ice to melt away).

Friday will be a mild, mostly sunny day, but starting Friday night, there is a chance of snow after 11 p.m., with less than half an inch predicted.

On Saturday, snow showers are expected to continue, but only around an inch at most. The National Weather Service predicts snow in the forecast through Sunday night, but an amount isn't given.

For those who are planning to travel in the high country, it is encouraged that you check road conditions ahead of time.
