2020 has not been an easy year for anyone, so the Convoy of Hope wants to give a little extra help to those in need.

The non-profit organization is hosting a Sunday Drive-Thru event at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 20 at the Vineyard Church of the Rockies (1201 Riverside Ave) in Fort Collins.

There, community members will be giving out free groceries, kids shoes, socks, and more on a first-come, first-served basis to the needy.

"Because of COVID, there are a lot of restrictions, but we still wanted to do something to kind of give back to the Fort Collins community," said Mona Tolleson, Convoy Nation Manager, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "It is just bringing the community together to volunteer and to kind of give hope."

No ID is required to participate — just a vehicle. Attendees will also have the option to receive prayers while they're stopping by.

Events like these are what inspire the Convoy of Hope to continue the work of their mission: "to bring help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry, and hurting."

"That's Convoy of Hope's kind of mission, is to give a hand-up, not a handout. That hand-up really looks like providing them relief from the struggles of feeling like everything's going against them, or not having enough money to pay bills or buy groceries," said Greg Bridgeman, Convoy Nation Director. "We give that hand-up to them so that they can afford to do that and help them get out of their current situations."

Donations are not currently being accepted for the Sunday Drive-Thru, but you can find out how to get involved with the organization here.
