After performing on the big stage at Denver's Mission Ballroom the night before, rock group The Maine brought live music back to Fort Collins with an X-clusive set at The Coast on Wednesday evening. The up-close intimate gig was for just a handful of their fans in Northern Colorado.

The event was only for listeners who won their way onto the guest list through the station app, and for those who long for the days of VH1 Storytellers or MTV Unplugged — this is it! If you weren't there, this is what you missed:

  • A seamless Weezer and Wheatus 'Teenage Dirtbag' mashup
  • The band explaining why they're called 'The Maine' even though they're from Arizona
  • The band explaining why they're not called the 'Butthole Surfers' (it's unfortunately taken)
  • Stripped down hits from 'Only Want to Talk to You' to 'Sticky'
  • The stories behind the band's songs
  • How the group got through quarantine while making a record
  • A meet + greet and photo opp
  • A rock band driving a Chrysler minivan

There's always next time though. If you have the free station app on your phone, you'll know when an opportunity like this comes knocking again. Or, comes rolling up in a minivan.

BIG thank you to our friends at The Coast in Old Town Fort Collins for hosting this happy hour event, and helping us safely bring live music from touring acts back to our 'cute downtown' (The Maine's words, not ours, but we totally agree).
