Loveland PD is celebrating a historic member of their team.

Officer Kelly Amling, according to a Facebook post, became the first-ever female motor officer at the Loveland Police Department. Officer Amling had to endure a grueling two-week motorcycle school, but she did it, and has officially earned her "motor wings".

Motorcycle school includes a variety of things, like basic motorcycle familiarization and how to pick up bikes that have fallen (because these bikes get heavy). Officers will practice weaving through cones, emergency braking, and more. It's famously difficult, but Amling powered through.

The Loveland PD says that Amling "also serves our department as a traffic officer, peer support team member, field training officer, background investigator, and crisis negotiator."

Congratulations to Officer Amling!
