It's not often you hear of an armed robbery in Loveland, let alone a police officer shooting the suspect. It was a crazy Monday in Loveland, for sure.

On Monday (April 29, 2019) afternoon at around 4:30 p.m. an armed man robbed the Subway at 29th Street and Garfield, within the Shops on 29th shopping center.  Loveland Police were called out as the man fled on foot.

According to the Reporter-Herald and the Larimer County Sheriff, officers tracked the suspect down at 29th and Madison. At that point, while it's not clear why one of the officers shot at and struck the suspect.

The suspect was taken to MCR and is expected to survive. The officer has been placed on paid leave (which is normal for the situation) while the Sheriff's investigation continues.
