Apparently recreating Clark Griswold hanging from his roof in Christmas Vacation is a bad idea.

There are a lot of things to love about Christmas. To me, this time of year brings out the best in people. We see people taking it upon themselves to help others in any way that they can.

Like this good Samaritan.

According to KVUE in Austin, Texas, a man named Alfred jumped into action when he saw a man in distress. This man that Alfred saw appeared to have been hanging Christmas lights when the ladder slipped out from under him. He was left hanging from the roof tangled in lights.

But the man hanging from the roof was not real.

And that scene sounds all too familiar doesn't it? It's scene from a classic Christmas film called Christmas Vacation. The patriarch of the Griswold family, Clark, finds himself in a similar situation.

The Heerlein family recreated the scene as a part of a Christmas decorating contest.

Alfred, a retired veteran, did everything he could to save the Griswold look-a-like. He even called 9-1-1. The family's Nest Cam caught all of it on video, which you can see below.
