Maren Morris performed her single "Girl" on the Howard Stern show Monday morning. The performance brought Howard to tears as he told her that the song is very personal to him and called it "absolutely magnificent.”

He asked her about her new (all women) supergroup called "The Highwomen." Morris confirmed that she is working on new music with Brandy Carlile, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires. Stern asked her if there was any backlash (in the country world) for her work with "non-country" artists. She responded saying that there isn't as much of that anymore.

You don't have to wear a prairie skirt anymore to be country."

CMT is reporting that that artists made their world debut together April 1st in Nashville at Loretta Lynn's birthday celebration.
