I may have a new favorite pizza restaurant in Fort Collins. The grand opening for MOD "Super Fast" Pizza is today (Monday, October 24) at 11 am. The first 52 people through the door get free pizza. It's real easy to find at Shields Street and Centre Avenue, Just south of Campus West, in a renovated gas station. 50% of all sales from opening day will be donated to Share Our Strengths Cooking Matters "No Kid Hungry".

My wife and I had the opportunity to get in the door early on Saturday for a "friends and family" pre-grand opening and I loved it. MOD Pizza is unlike any other pizza restaurant you will find. You actually pick the ingredients that go on your pizza while they make it right in front of you.

If your pizza isn't good, it's your own fault. It is cooked in an 800 degree stone pizza oven, in just a few minutes. Just like the name, it's "Super Fast". My pizza was tremendous. I created a meat-lover's dream. Of course, it had bacon.

The ownership group made up of Bob Merullo, Scott Schooler and and Kevin Embree own 7 MOD Pizza restaurants in Colorado. Scott told me they plan to open 25 restaurants in the state over the next couple of years.
