Fort Collins residents should expect more delays due to railroad construction next week.

According to a news release from CDOT, Union Pacific Railroad is completing work on its track at the intersection of North Shields and US 287 from 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, through 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10. It's possible that North Shields will continue to be blocked for part of the day Thursday, August 11. This schedule is approximate and subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen factors.

Luckily, there are some detours all planned out for those who regularly commute through that area.

Westbound traffic on US 287 will detour right onto North Shields, turning into County Road 56 heading west. Drivers will loop around to connect back with US 287 at Overland Trail.

Eastbound traffic on US 287 will detour left onto Overland Trail and continue east on County Road 56, and will continue south on North Shields until it connects to US 287.

Northbound traffic on North Shields will need to detour right on Willox Lane, while southbound traffic will detour to US 287 to Willox.
