When venturing into the realm of online dating, many people share the concern of, "Is it safe to meet someone I met online in-person?"

In many cases, yes. Unfortunately there have indeed been cases where online dates end in murder. Before I scare you out of online dating, though, rest assured that Colorado falls on the safer scale of most dangerous versus safest states for finding love online.

Safewise created a map of where each state lands on the safety scale, which can be viewed here. While Colorado didn't make it as one of the top 10 safest states for online dating, it does show up as "light blue" on the map, meaning online dating is relatively safe here.

Wyoming is the sixth safest state for online dating and Utah is the fourth safest, while our neighbor to the south (New Mexico) is the fourth most dangerous state for online dating.
