Honoring Northern Colorado educators and helping you say thank you to an outstanding teacher in your life is why Teacher Tuesday was formed.

You can get your teacher nominated here.

This week's Teacher Tuesday got $50 to the Melting Pot, a bouquet of flowers from Earle's Flowers and Gifts, $25 in Schrader bucks, a pair of tickets to see Martina McBride at the 1st Bank Center, and commemorative video from Star Painter Productions.

Congratulations to Mrs. Kelly Parks at Walt Clark Middle School in Loveland. Mrs. Parks was nominated by Kelly Leedy whose son Mason is a student of Mrs. Parks.

Kelly says, "Mrs. Parks is a Gift and Talented Coordinator/Advocate and teaches some specialty classes to her GT students including Stress Management and Philosophy. Mrs. Parks has gone out of her way to be an advocate for Mason who is one of her Gifted and Talented students. What many people don't realize is the challenge of teaching these kids in a public school setting, making sure that these kids get the attention and education that is fit for their needs and making sure that teachers are aware that these children take stress from school to a whole other level. Mrs. Parks has helped Mason in so many ways from talking to teachers, holding team meetings to advocate for my son and providing him with additional resources and work so that he has remained challenged at Walt Clark Middle School. She is a kind and sweet women who has truly made a difference to my son as many others I'm sure."
