Some well known musicians are refusing to play at the famous amphitheater near Denver because of it's home city's support of police officers.

Colorado's own The Lumineers and international recording artist Nathaniel Rateliff are refusing to play at Fiddlers Green because of a newly passed resolution in which the city plans to defend police officers who are sued under Colorado's new police reform law.

According to the new resolution, court costs, attorney fees and fines would be paid by the city for lawsuits brought under Colorado's Senate Bill 217.

Senate Bill 217 says that if an officer is found to have "acted in bad faith" or there is a "reasonable belief an officer's conduct was unlawful", the officer could be sued civilly and responsible for up to $25,000 in restitution.

The city of Greenwood Village isn't having it.

Council member Dave Bullock said this to 9 News about the resolution that passed earlier this month:

It goes well beyond supporting our officers... It sends a message to ... the country that we have a very different attitude towards law enforcement and the rule of law in Greenwood Village.
