My wife and I are blessed. Jenny and I have traveled all over the U.S. and to many locations around the World. I came up with my "5 Favorite International Vacations". I did not include our vacations to Brazil and our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta because I got very sick on both of those trips.

5. Riviera Maya - Mexico

In 2014, K99's parent company, Town Square Media held an event in Riviera, Mexico called Tropical Nights-Boots in the Sand. It included a week at the Hard Rock Hotel with concerts each night from Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert, and Jana Kramer. Brian, Susan and I all got to go along with our spouses.

  • Highlight - Visit to the ancient city of Tulum, Mexico

4. Alaskan Cruise

My Dad always had a dream of visiting Alaska, so for my parents 50th wedding anniversary we took an Alaskan Cruise. We took the typical route along Alaska's Inside Passage with stops in Prince Rupert, Canada, Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery, but I was disappointed we didn't see any bears.

  • Highlight - Seeing a pod of whales right next to our ship

3. Caribbean Cruise from Puerto Rico

My wife's parents celebrated their 50th Anniversary by taking her brother's family and Jenny and me on a Carribean cruise. We flew into San Juan Puerto Rico from Miami and visited 5 islands: St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, and Barbados. It was our 1st ever warm weather cruise and we loved it.

  • Highlight - Exploring Old San Juan

2. Sydney Australia

Our trip to Australia could easily have been #1 for me. We visited a couple friends who lived there in 2001. While we were there we climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge, stayed at the beach for a couple days, traveled to the Blue Mountains to see the Three Sisters, and Katoomba Falls, saw dolphins , whales, and wallabies in the wild and saw kangaroos, koalas, and wombats at the Koala Park Sanctuary in Sydney.

  • Riding on a friend's tugboat around Sydney Harbor for an entire afternoon

1. Great Britain

Our trip to Great Britain is one I will never forget. We attended the 50th birthday party of a friend in a warehouse on the Thames River. We saw tourist attractions in London like the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey. We drove down to the English Channel, after stopping at Stonehenge, and stayed at a lovely inn called the Manor in West Bexington, England. We visited Warwick Castle and then drove up to see a friend in Glasgow, Scotland, where we saw Glasgow University. We took a train from Glasgow to Edinburgh, where we visited another very famous castle.

  • Highlight - There were so many, but the highlight had to be visiting the Harding Family Farm just outside the tiny village of Purton Stoke in north Wiltshire, England. I felt like Alex Haley in Roots.

Here is a pic of the Harding Farm as it looks today!
