It's time to dress up like a traveling minstrel, grab your bicycle, and head to Fort Collins.   New Belgium Brewing will hold its annual Tour de Fat bike parade September 3rd, with the ride beginning at 10 a.m. at Civic Center Park, at the intersection of Howes Street and Laporte Avenue in Fort Collins. Registration for the ride begins at 9 a.m.

The ride is just less than 4.5 miles long, and will bring riders back to Civic Center Park for music and New Belgium beer. It is a new parade route this year. For the first time, the Tour de Fat won’t be kicking everything off from the brewery, but instead from Civic Center Park.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Overland Mountain Bike Club, the Bike Co-op and Bike Fort Collins.

Riders are encouraged to come in costume and cyclists of all ages are welcome. The ride is free, but charitable donations are encouraged. The ride is held in 13 cities annually, including Denver, which will host its own Tour de Fat Sept. 10.
