The Christmas season doesn't begin for my wife and me til December 1st! That is when Realities For Children holds their annual "Night Lights" tree lighting ceremony. The Night Light's tree is the 50 foot tall tree with 25 thousand lights on it on the front lawn of the First Presbyterian Church just South of Mulberry on College Avenue in Fort Collins. You can't miss it when it lights up every night! My wife and I attended the event Wednesday night.  We love the old fashioned feel of the event, with chocolate, home made cookies (Made by the ladies at the church),

and a children's choir. Something about hearing little kids sing always brings tears to my eyes. My favorite part of the night is when the tree is finally lit and the crowd cheers. My wife and I left with a smile on our face and a warm feeling in our heart!

Even though the event is free, it is a major fundraiser for Realities For Children to benefit abused and neglected children in Northern Colorado. The goal this year is $100,000! It's not to late to sponsor a light on the Night Lights tree!

Each light is $100 and 100% benefits abused and neglected children directly, as Realities for Children is entirely underwritten by our membership base - thus ensuring donors 100% of their donation will benefit our youth in need. Donations will help provide the much needed resources to over 1,500 youth this December and eighteen area agencies in the New Year through businesses, families and organizations sponsoring a light.

Checks can be made payable to Realities for Children Charities.
