Snow fell across Colorado for the first time for the 2023-2024 snow season. Estes Park had 10 inches of snowfall, Fort Collins had 5 inches, and  Denver was shy of 3 inches.

It is not uncommon to see snow in October, but it was surprising this year. It seemed like the snow came out of nowhere. The week before the snow, I was wearing a T-shirt to work.

Next thing you know, I was wearing a padded flannel and a snow jacket.

In other words, I was not prepared. Most Northern Coloradans were not expecting the snowfall either. Let's change that and look at what we can expect in November.

The Farmer's Almanac predicts that there will be snow periods throughout the month of November.

Expect a lot of rain in the first few weeks of November. There will possibly be some snow, but it will mostly be cold for the first few weeks.

The Almanac says that temperatures will begin to drop beginning on November 13. Frigid temperatures are expected across the Front Range with a lot of sunshine.

We will start seeing the majority of the snow towards the end of November across Northern Colorado. There will be casual and typical snowfall from November 18th to the 24th. This is great news because this is around Thanksgiving, and the roads should not be severe.

The last five days in November are expected to be rough. The Farmers Almanac predicts there will be extremely cold weather along with a snowstorm.

Historically, in Northern Colorado, we receive about 6.2 inches of snow per November. I am assuming we will go above 6.2 inches this November because of the storm that may be approaching at the end of the month.

Stephen King stayed in this hotel in the 1970s, and he was inspired to write The Shining, one of the best horror novels of all time. Many believe The Stanley has paranormal activity.
