Shots rang out early Wednesday in Greeley after officers contacted a suspicious person in a vehicle in the 100 block of 14th Avenue.

A press release says that the Greeley Police contacted a suspect inside a suspicious vehicle at 1:13 a.m. As the officers approached, they noticed two people in the vehicle, and one suspect with a gun in his lap.

The interaction led to officers firing shots, striking the driver.

The suspect was transported to a hospital, where he died.
