Butter Cream Cupcakery, formerly located at 172 N College Ave. in Fort Collins, has closed its doors for good.

Although Butter Cream Cupakery, the family owned and operated cupcake shop notoriously known for serving up creative 'surprise' flavors, will be closing their Old Town location, you can rest assured; a note posted in the window of its former Old Town shop stated that the shop would continue serving customers at its Midtown Fort Collins store, located at 3663 S. College Ave.

According to the Coloradoan, those behind the cupcake shop that ran for over a decade decided not to renew their Old Town lease in order to focus all its resources on its Midtown store.

The Coloradoan says that two years after opening at the corner of Horsetooth Road and College Avenue over a decade ago, in 2008, Butter Cream Cupcakery — which was under different ownership at the time — opened its first downtown location in a tiny Old Town Square space next to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, as per the publication's archives.

Butter Cream Cupcakery eventually moved to 172 N. College Ave. under the ownership of siblings Cassidy, Callahan and head baker Promise Montoya, who purchased the business in 2015.
