UPDATE:

As students were returning to Palisade High School on Monday, WesternSlopeNow.com reports that students neighboring school Mt. Garfield Middle School were going home with the same symptoms; students vomiting.

According to the story, Mesa County Public Health now believe it's all do to noorovirus

Palisade, known for its delicious peaches, is working to figure out why over 300 people at the high school have gotten sick this week.

Palisade High School has roughly 1,000 students as well as many other staff members.  CPR News reports that on Wednesday (Nov. 13, 2019) 130 students/staff became ill, and on Thursday (Nov. 14, 2019) the number more than doubled, with 300 students and staff becoming ill.

Neither the school nor the health department have yet to determine what has caused so many people to get sick. In the meantime, the school is closed until Monday, while the school and campus are undergoing a thorough cleaning.

Students have been advised to just stay home if they have vomited twice within the last 24 hours, or if the vomit is green or bloody.

Yikes and yuck.
