'Say it ain't snow!' the National Weather Service tweeted. But, it is, in fact, snow

Following a few abnormal weather events this weekend and 90-plus degree heat in Northern Colorado, it's nice to start off the week with mild temps in the 60s and 70s. For parts of Colorado, the cool down today and high winds tonight could even mean a bit of June snow.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, 'Light snow accumulations are expected over the higher elevations of the central mountains' starting Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

Just last Thursday, Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park reopened for the summer, but the National Park Service service said in an email notification that the road will be closing at 6 p.m. on Monday evening.

'The National Weather Service is forecasting that rain will be transitioning to snow around 5 p.m. with eight to nine inches above 10,000 feet, along with 25 mph winds and drifting snow,' the National Park Service said. 'The road will be evaluated tomorrow.  At this time it is unknown when the road will reopen.'

You can call the road's status line at (970) 586-1222.

In the lower elevations along the Front Range, we will likely only get rain. 80 to 90 degree days return to the Fort Collins area on Thursday and Friday.
