UPDATE: Picnic Rock Fire Near Fort Collins in Poudre Canyon Extinguished
UPDATE 2:20 p.m. August 27: Picnic Rock Fire has been fully extinguished.
On Wednesday, August 26, the Poudre Fire Authority tweeted that they were battling the Picnic Rock Fire near Highway 287 and Highway 14, close to Ted's Place.
While the nearby Lewstone Fire that burned 165 acres last week is now completely contained, authorities were called to another wildfire northwest of Fort Collins near Laporte in the Poudre Canyon. This fire grew to a few acres, and there are reportedly no structures at risk.
As of Thursday, August 27, crews said the fire was 25 percent contained. The Cameron Peak Fire is still burning west of Fort Collins.
