On the Fourth of July, a plane made an emergency landing at the Foothills Campus following a 'critical mechanical failure' while in flight near Horsetooth Reservoir, Colorado State University police shared on Facebook

This could have been pretty bad, but the pilot of the small, single engine plane was able to make the emergency landing on the CSU campus by using the Christman airfield, a private runway that has been a part of the campus since the 1940s.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the emergency landing, which took place around 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. CSU police called it 'relatively successful,' and we'd agree, it looks like a pretty successful emergency landing.
