A detour could be putting a damper on your returning from a fun Valentine's getaway, as I-25 will be shut down at Highway 402 for northbound travel.

Hopefully, this won't be affecting too many people, as the closure is slated for 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2020, until 5 a.m. on Presidents Day.

According to the Reporter-Herald, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be closing northbound I-25 between Highway 402 and Highway 34 to install girders for a reconstructed southbound I-25 bridge that will go over the Big Thompson River.

Travelers heading northbound during the closure will be detoured eastbound on Highway 402 to County Road 13, then northbound to Highway 34 where they'll head westbound back to the interstate.

It's part of that big I-25 North Express Lanes Project, where when completed, there will be an express toll lane in both directions between Mead and Fort Collins.
