If you've received a "Purchase Agreement" letter for your Larimer County property, it's most likely a scam.

According to the Larimer County Treasurer's Office, a number of concerned taxpayers have been calling to report receiving letters offering to purchase their property for $75 in addition to any outstanding delinquent taxes due.

In every case they have dealt with, the LCTO says there have been no outstanding delinquent taxes.

"In each case where the taxpayer receiving this letter has called our office, there are no delinquent taxes due," says Larimer County Treasurer Irene Josey, who cautions property owners to ignore unsolicited offers and confirm the status of your taxes due to avoid falling victim to this scam.

To confirm information regarding your property tax status, Josey says to call her office at 970-498-7020, or check online at larimer.org/treasurer.

If you believe you've fallen victim to this or any scam, please contact law enforcement.
