Colorado State running back Marcus McElroy Jr. has shown glimpses of being a lead running back.

He's had multi-touchdown games for the Rams against Fresno State in 2019 and San Diego State in 2020.

Now he has the chance to take his game to the next level as a senior in 2021.

"I need to prove myself," McElroy said. "I need to go out there and show the things I know I can do and what other people believe I can do."

McElroy was Colorado's No. 7 prospect when coming out of high school in 2017 — he was first-team, all-state at Mullen High School in Denver. He chose CSU over offers from  Colorado, Kansas State, Purdue and Air Force.

McElroy has scored three touchdowns in each of the past two seasons, including last season's shortened four-game campaign.

McElroy sat down to chat about his upcoming season and his hopes for a big senior season in the latest Ram Jam episode.

Ram Jampresented by Bank of Colorado, is the weekly magazine show that gives you exclusive access to everything CSU sports. The 30-minute shows airs at 7 p.m. every Wednesday on Townsquare Media's Power 102.9, Home of the Rams.
