Happy St. Patrick's Day! And the foodie in me is screaming. I have tried this popular dish and can't wrap my mind around why anyone would eat it; this comes from a woman who has actually tried octopus 5 times before throwing in the towel and saying I don't like it. I like beef, I love cabbage and potatoes... I just can't do corned beef and cabbage, so for me it's a heck no and thank you anyway!

So, I included this video because I don't like corned beef and cabbage and therefore have never made it. But I know that you might want to make it. Plus, the video is adorable, can I refer to a recipe video as addorable? hmmm... well, watch it, you'll know what I mean.

So in case you really do want this meal, you don't have 4+ hours and you don't want to go out, I have an idea that might work. Swing by the grocery store on the way home, run to the deli and pay attention cause the deli is the wildest section in the grocery store. People will cut in front of you at the grocery store deli and order five different things at 1/4 pound each. Order some corned beef deli meat, grab a couple of potatoes, carrots, celery and a small onion. Go home, rough chop the veggies and add all but the cabbage into a deep skillet add 1 Tbs of Canola oil and cook on medium heat for around 5 minutes, add the cabbage and a bottle of beer. Cover the skillet or pot, go take a shower, add the deli meat and you should be set to eat in another 5-7 minutes! Enjoy!!!!!!
