Okay so it sounds a little too good to be true and if truth were told its not like you are gorging on donuts for dinner. The donuts are in your dinner and that's just plain fun. And being its National Donut Day, why not? This recipe is one that should make you smile from the inside out.

What You'll Need:

4 cake donuts
1 cup apricot preserves
1 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp unsalted butter, divided

6 of your favorite cut
pork chops (I use center
cut loin chops)

Putting It All Together:

preheat oven to 350 degrees

in small saucepan bring
preserves, honey and
1 tablespoon butter to
a bubble, stirring frequently
then reduce heat to
low for 3 minutes and
set aside.

In a separate pan brown
pork chops on each side.
deglaze the pan by adding
a 1/4 cup of water to the
still warm pan and swoosh
it around.

place chops in a baking dish
and coat with apricot glaze

and cover. cook till instant
read thermometer reads 145*

while the chops are in the
oven prepare your donuts.
melt 1 Tbsp butter and coat
crumbled donut pieces in a
medium bowl. set aside.

*just before the chops have

reached a safe temp, (in the last
5-10 minutes) uncover
and top with cake donut blend and
cook till the donut crumble is golden
brown.
