UPDATE: Poudre School District reported the lockout was lifted.

The High School office manager has confirmed that Rocky Mountain High School is currently in a lockout due to a bear in the area of the school.

This was sent out to parents this at 9:34 AM this morning:

Dear parents and guardians,

This morning, Wednesday Sept. 4, 2019, just after school began, we recieved word that there was a bear sighting close to Rocky Mountain High School just to the west. We got on the intercom and initiated our Lock Out procedures. This means that we continue business as usual inside the school with classes ect., but we do not let students go outside for any reason.

We will remain on this Lock Out status until we get word from authorities that the bear has been spotted or removed.

We will communicate with you once the Lock Out has been lifted.

Thank you,

Craig Woodall, RMHS Principal
