A pair of Northern Colorado high schools took over the top-ranking spots in two different Colorado High School Athletic Association classes this week.

  • Roosevelt High School of Johnstown moved up to No. 1 in Class 3A after the Roughriders beat previous No. 1 Mead 21-20 in overtime last Friday.
  • Resurrection Christian High School of Loveland also moved up to No. 1 in Class 2A. after being No. 2 last week. The Cougars have dominated in both wins this season, beating D'Evelyn 47-0 on Oct. 9 and defeating Arvada 63-0 last Friday.

A number of other Northern Colorado schools are also ranked in Class 2A: No. 5 Platte Valley, No. 7 Eaton, No. 9 University and No. 10 Severance.

Loveland High School also got a first place vote in the Class 4A poll and currently ranks No. 5.
