Smuckers will soon be hiring in Northern Colorado. The J.M. Smucker Co. will hold information sessions this month about future job opportunities at its new plant in Longmont.

In January the company announced plans for a $340 million, 400,000-square-foot facility in Longmont that eventually could employ 500 workers.

The plant will make Smucker’s Uncrustables sandwiches, which are pre-made frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

As part of incentive deals negotiated with Longmont, Weld County and the state of Colorado, Smucker’s will be required to pay workers an average of $48,977 annually, or 105 percent of the annual average wage in Weld County.
