Southbound College Ave. will be closed between Mulberry St. and Pitkin St. from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.

According to a press release from the City of Fort Collins, the closure is due to a large-scale tree pruning and replacement project.

The release said the pruning project and tree replacements are a matter of public safety and urban forest health.

Officials will prune 154 trees along the closed stretch, and two trees will be removed because of safety concerns.

One of these trees is between Mulberry and Myrtle St., while the other is between W. Laurel St. and Old Main Dr. at Colorado State University.

Officials will replace the trees later this spring.

It is possible that this closure may change due to unforeseen weather conditions. More information can be found here.
