I can't help but take a minute to ask someone {who might know} who's idea it was to justify a stoplight at Hwy 257 and Garden in Windsor?  Seriously!  Who's idea was this...

I travel this stretch of road at least 9 times during a 7 day week and 8 of those times I have to stop at this light.  Now, it wouldn't be so bad if it were actually BUSY at that intersection but 99.1% of the time there is no one there to stop for.  The problem is that anyone turning off of Garden {North or South} triggers the light.  So, the one car that triggered the light is now long gone and there you are, staring at a stop light that shouldn't be there in the first place.  You might say, "Well Charley, the new police station is down Garden so they need a light."

My answer, "NO THEY DON'T."  Last I checked police cars have pretty blue and red lights and a SIREN so the can go wherever they want, whenever they want regardless of a STOP LIGHT.  The simple solution to this problem {since it would cost more to tear it down} is to have it as a working stoplight from 6A to 9A and then again from 4P to 7P with it flashing yellow on 257 and flashing red on Garden. HELLO...cities all across the country do it. Or maybe some bright engineer can figure out how to make sure the right lane doesn't trigger a light that doesn't need triggered.

I thought blogging about this tragic waste of money would help me feel better but in reality it just makes me even more mad.  Someone needs to have their job re-evaluated and the tax-payers and homeowners in that area should be livid at having the dumbest excuse for a stop light in their backyard.

Seriously, who's idea was it?
