Support Group Holding Virtual Meetings for Moms During COVID-19

It's not easy being a mom — especially when you're quarantined at home with the kids and no other moms to talk to.

"You Are Not Alone, Mom to Mom (YANA M2M)," a Colorado support group, is now providing a virtual community for moms during the stay-at-home order.

The group is based in Highlands Ranch, and was formed by Nikki Brooker in 2017 after a local mother killed herself and her two children.

Following the tragedy, Brooker knew that she had to reach out and let other moms know they are not alone in their struggles.

"This group is for every single mom to know that they do belong and they do have a place where they are enough," Brooker said in a blog on her website. "We all have insecurities and faults...and that's OK because we are enough!"

While the moms can no longer meet in person, Brooker is organizing weekly Zoom meetings every Thursday at 2 p.m. to help moms connect during the quarantine.

According to The Denver Channel, no topic is off limits for the group, and they do not shy away from discussing common feelings of depression and loneliness.

Even though the group is based in Highlands Ranch, Brooker wants everyone to know the group is open to all moms — including ones in Northern Colorado.
